An inventory tracking error is displayed every time an item is marked as wastage, even though the item is being cancelled from the order.

Error message:
“Menu item 'Aloo Tikki Burger' has no inventory tracking. Set Recipe or Direct Stock in Portal, then sync Menu and Inventory.”

Expected: The item should be added as wastage successfully if the required inventory configuration is already set, or the system should clearly indicate which inventory configuration is missing.
